Letters from Students: Julie |

"Jay's approach to teaching guitar is original. Rather than only memorizing the basics, he highly encouraged me to be as creative as possible in finding my own style, and writing my own original music from the very beginning. "Learning the blues scale immediately gave me the ability to jam right away with some of my advanced musician friends, which inspired me even more to continue learning. I highly recommend Jay in helping you learn how to play too." Julie |

Gift Certificates Still Available! |
|
If you gave a guitar as a gift to someone for the holidays, or just know someone who really wants to play better, you might want to consider purchasing them some guitar lessons. Or maybe getting them a guitar for the holidays just seemed like a much better idea before you began hearing your significant other torture themselves (and you) by mangling Smoke on the Water or Guns ‘n’ Roses' Patience for the eight millionth time. They can play better, have a great time doing it, and you'll hear a huge improvement in just four lessons. |

Did you know that there are two completely different “correct” methods of playing the guitar? And that it makes a VERY big difference which one you learn depending on the style of music and type of guitar you want to play?

Looking For Guitar Lessons? |
Are You An Absolute Beginner? Give me a call. I am an experienced musician, teacher (I teach privately and at a music school), and performer with lots of patience and a strong memory of not being able to tune my guitar, let alone communicate with it. Fifteen years later I can play and express things on the instrument I couldn't even conceive of when I first started. © 2003, 2005 Jay Skyler

Letters from Students: Eddie |
|

I'm still playing the shit out of my guitar and working on all the things you taught me. I wish I could start taking lessons again, but me being in sac, its just too damn far away without a car. You're still the inspiration in my musical life. I'm still trying to work on my shredding but you just blow any other fucking person out the water, so it's frustrating. Been listening to your songs and I gotta say they're fucking awesome. Keep on playing your heart out bro, I'll keep in touch. Eddie B. |

Letters from Students: Jaime |
|
One of my students Jaime recently moved back to Spain to get married. I'd like to wish him and his new wife the best of luck! "Hi Jay! "Last Saturday was my wedding!! "It was nice and funny, but one of the best parts was the concert. I went to the stage and I played "Little Wing," "Thank you" by Led Zeppelin", and after a break, "Dreams" from The Allman Brothers. Was so nice and funny, all my family and friends screaming and dancing... OOoaaaooo! I want to play again for other people!! I think I have to search a band to play in! "So thank you so much for teaching me during last year in San Francisco. For me this was unforgettable! I never thought that I can play as now (and I still have to learn a lot..) "Good luck with everything, and if someday you have to come to Spain, you will have a friend." Jaime |
