The Lydian Major scale has a sharp 4, otherwise it is the same as the Major Scale. Lydian Mode is one of the seven diatonic modes (and is the original, Major is derived from Lydian). This mode is used widely in Gregorian Chants, thus it is always referred to by its Catholic Church name. It is in the Major family of chord and scale qualities, and is the fourth mode of Major (Ionian) and the 6th mode of Minor (Aeolian)..
